ECAC, New England Championships Welcome Women's Track
CCSU women's track will send nine members to the 2017 ECAC Championships. Mondo will race in the NEICAAA steeplechase.
The Central Connecticut women's outdoor track and field team looks to continue its championship season success after shining at the 2017 NEC Championships last weekend. The Northeast Conference Runner-Ups will take part in the ECAC Championships at Princeton Univeristy in Princeton, NJ inside of Weaver Stadium.

The Blue Devils will ship nine athletes down the east coast to compete in the ECAC's, while sophomore Madeline Mondo will represent the team at the New England Championships in Williamstown, MA at Williams College. The sophomore will run in the 3,000 meter steeplecase on Saturday, May 13th at 12:15 p.m. Results from the NEICAAA's will be posted on www.NEICAAA.org.
On Friday, May 12th, the 2017 Northeast Conference 10K Champion, junior Brittany Mendelson and second year Blue Devil, Dawn Hubbell will kick off the ECAC's in the 10K at 6:20 p.m.
Last week's NEC first place CCSU 4x100m relay team including freshman Wileshka Samuel, Erica Snape, senior Sarah Hicks, and Sherise Truman will compete first on Saturday in the 4x100m trials at 2:45 p.m. The finals are slated for noon on Sunday.
Coming off a two-gold medal NEC Championship debut, Samuel will also run in the 100m dash on Saturday at 3:45 p.m.
Hicks, rookie Hailey Rospierski, and senior Melissa Wolliston will run in the 100m hurdle first round at 3:25 p.m. and if they advance, will race in the semifinals at 4:25 p.m. Wolliston and sophomore Northeast Conference 400m Hurdle Champion will compete in the 400H trials at 5:05 p.m.
The 200 meter dash will feature Truman who won the NEC Title on last Sunday with a personal best time of 24.68s to round out the ECAC entries for Central. Follow @CCSUTrack for recent news and updates throughout the weekend.
