Wolliston Ties School Record Saturday, Qualifies For ECAC Finals
60 meter hurdle specialist, Melissa Wolliston, tied her own school record time of 8.68 in the semifinals at the ECAC Championships.
Senior Melissa Wolliston represented the Central Connecticut women's indoor track and field team at the ECAC Championships in Boston, MA. Wolliston breezed through the first two rounds of the 60 meter hurdles, to qualify for the finals on Sunday at 11:45 a.m. inside the BU Track and Tennis Center.
The senior tied her own school record time of 8.68 in the semis while taking sixth place on Saturday afternoon. Wolliston set the record last weekend at the NEICAAA Championships, where she took home the bronze medal. Wolliston placed eighth earlier in the day in the 60m hurdle prelims after crossing the finish line at 8.72.
Prior to the ECAC 60 meter hurdle finals, sophomore Sierra Nesmith will be competing in the triple jump at 9:30 a.m. Nesmith, the 2017 Northeast Conference Triple Jump Champion, comes into the event with a personal best jump of 11.64 meters.
