Taylor Friedmann Earns Honorable Mention as Mid-Major All-American

Central Connecticut sophomore Taylor Friedmann was recognized by CollegeSwimming.Com as a Honorable Mention Mid-Major All-American. Friedmann earned the honor based off her performance in the 500 freestyle this season. She becomes the fourth Blue Devil swimmer to be recognized an All-American.

Friedmann Breaks ECAC 200 Free Record, Blue Devils Move to Fourth

Central Connecticut sophomore Taylor Friedmann earned a victory in the 200 free event on Saturday with a record setting performance. That victory helped her team move into fourth place on day two of the ECAC Championships. The Blue Devils have scored 265 team points in the first two days.

Swimming and Diving Finishes Fourth at ECAC Championships

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team finished fourth at the 2011 ECAC Championships. The Blue Devils posted a team score of 363 points, trailing New Hampshire, Harvard and Marist. New Hampshire took the ECAC team title with a total of 611 points.

Swimming and Diving in Fifth Place After Day One of ECAC Championships

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team finished day one in fifth place at the ECAC Championships. The Blue Devils scored 105 team points, Harvard is in first place with 218 points. The Blue Devils were led by third place finishes from sophomore Taylor Friedmann and junior Alex Czaplicki.

Swimming and Diving Receives Scholar All-America Team Honor

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team has been honored as a Scholar All-America Team for the Fall Semester by the College Swimming Coaches Assocation of America. Coach Bill Ball's squad is one of only two Northeast Conference teams to receive the honor this season. The Blue Devils finished second at the NEC Championships last weekend.

Swimming and Diving Takes Second at 2011 NEC Championships

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team finished second at the 2011 Northeast Conference Championships. The Blue Devils scored 267 points on Saturday but fell to St. Francis (PA) 791 to 759. It is the second straight year that the Blue Devils finished as the conference's runner up. Junior Madison Vestergaard defended her three-meter diving title, she earned the NEC's Diver of the Meet Award after winning both events this weekend.

Swimming and Diving Holds Two Point Lead After Day Two of NEC Championships

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team finished day two of the 2011 Northeast Conference Championships in first place. The Blue Devils trailed defending champion St. Francis (PA) heading into the final event of the day, but Central pulled off a win in the 800 free relay to close the day with a two point lead.

Blue Devils Take the Lead on Day One of NEC Championships

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team took the lead on day one of the Northeast Conference Championships. The Blue Devils racked up 244 points on day one, just ahead of St. Francis (PA) who grabbed 223 points. The Blue Devils were led by their diving squad who swept the top three spots in the one-meter event.

Madison Vestergaard Named Northeast Conference Diver of the Week

Central Connecticut junior Madison Vestergaard earned her seventh Northeast Conference Diver of the Week Award for her performances last weekend. Vestergaard won both diving events on Saturday as the Blue Devils defeated Wagner, 190-101.

Swimming and Diving Drops Wagner on Senior Day

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team defeated Wagner on Saturday afternoon at the Jack Suydam Natatorium. The Blue Devils cruised to a 190-101 victory, winning all 16 events on the day. Sophomore Taylor Friedmann won a pair of individual events and contributed to the Blue Devils 400 free relay team.

Swimming and Diving Adds Karen Novak to Class of 2015

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team has announced the addition of a new student-athlete for the class of 2015. Head swimming coach Bill Ball announced that Karen Novak of Cheshire, CT, has signed a national letter of intent to attend CCSU next year.

Swimming and Diving Splits Tri-Meet with Miami and Florida International

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team split with Miami and Florida International University on the road Saturday. The Blue Devils defeated FIU 142-121, but lost to Miami 167-98. The Blue Deivls were led by a pair sophomore Taylor Freidmann's two event victories.

Swimming and Diving Falls to Vermont

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team dropped its first meet of the new year on Sunday afternoon at Vermont. The Blue Devils fell 218-73, sophomore Taylor Friedmann led the Blue Devils by earning first place points in three events.

Central Sweeps NEC Swimming and Diving Weekly Awards

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team swept the Northeast Conference's weekly swimming and diving awards for the fourth time this season. Sophomore Taylor Friedmann earned her fourth swimmer of the week award and junior Madison Vestergaard earned her fifth consecutive diver of the week award. The Blue Devils competed at the Frank Elm Invitational this weekend, the three day event was hosted by Rutgers and featured 15 teams.

Swimming and Diving Finishes Sixth at Rutgers' Frank Elm Invitational

The Central Connecticut swimming and diving team finished sixth at this weekend's Frank Elm Invitational. The meet was hosted by Rutgers University and featured 15 teams. Junior Alex Czaplicki earned three individual top-ten performances, while sophomore Taylor Friedmann earned the Blue Devils only indvidual victory in the 200 free.

Swimming and Diving - Follow the Action Live at the Frank Elm Invitational

Follow the action live as the Central Connecticut swimming and diving team competes at the Frank Elm Invitational. The 15 team event is hosted by Rutgers and will run Friday, Saturday and Sunday this weekend. Action will begin at 9:30 a.m. every day with the days finals to begin at 5:30 p.m. Live results are available below.
