Lacrosse Falls To Merrimack In Midweek NEC Contest
Risher made 12 saves for the Blue Devils
The Central Connecticut State women's lacrosse team dropped an 11-5 decision to visit Northeast Conference foe Merrimack College on Wednesday afternoon. The Blue Devils fall to 2-7 on the year and 2-4 in league play and the Warriors improve to 2-8 overall and 2-3 in league play.
Talie Richardson, two goals, and Bella Santos both recorded five draws for the Blue Devils.
The Blue Devils head to Stonehill for an NEC contest on Saturday, April 30th. Game time is set for 12:00 pm.
KEY MOMENTS
- Lindsay Atkinson opened the scoring 5:50 into the contest, with an unassisted tally
- Allison Lamphere followed 51 seconds later to give Merrimack the 2-0 lead
- Shaelyn Yermal put the Blue Devils on the board at the 5:41 mark, and after another Warrior score, Bella Santos fed Talie Richardson to make the score 3-2 Warriors at the 4:16 mark of the opening quarter
- Natalie Calkins wrapped up the open periods scoring at the 2:09 mark giving the Warriors a 4- 2 lead

- Merrimack scored three times in a 4:51 stretch in the middle third of the quarter, taking a 9-4 lead into the final period
- Sophie Scearbo found the back of the net with 6:11 to play to give Merrimack the 10-4 advantage
- Makayla Winegar scored an 8-meter shot with 1:57 to play for the Blue Devils
