Women's Basketball Deals Robert Morris in NEC Quarters
The Blue Devils and the Colonials will tip off at 4:30 p.m. on Wednesday with a date in the NEC semis on the line.
The seventh-seeded Central Connecticut women's basketball team will duel with the second-seeded Robert Morris Colonials in a rematch of last year's NEC semifinal on Wednesday, March 7 at 4:30 p.m. in the 2018 NEC quarters. RMU collected wins in both of its meetings with Central this year, including a 66-47 victory the last time they met at the North Athletic Complex.
Both quarterfinal games at RMU will be streamed live, for free, on NEC Front Row.

LAST TIME OUT • Junior Kiana Patterson scored a career-high and game-high 26 points at LIU Brooklyn while setting a new program record for most three-pointers made in a single season (76). Patterson knocked down seven three-pointers in the game, tying her for the second-most threes in a contest in history. Despite the junior captain's outstanding performance, LIU flew away with a 67-51 victory on its Senior Day.
MOST RECENTLY FOR THE COLONIALS • RMU caputred a share of the 2018 NEC regular season title on Sunday at home topping Mount St. Mary's 66-54. After a slow start, the Colonials out-scored MSM 33-9 in the second and third quarters, led by a 17-point effort from Meghan Callahan.
SERIES HISTORY • Wednesday marks the 40th all-time meeting and second straight NEC Tournament duel between Central Connecticut and Robert Morris. RMU holds a commanding 25-14 lead in the overall series and outlasted CCSU 70-62 in last year's NEC semifinal in Moon Township, PA. The Blue Devils are 6-5 all-time in the NEC Quarterfinals.
KI FOR THREE • Junior Kiana Patterson has wrote her name in the record books twice for her outstanding shooting from behind the arc. Patterson is CCSU's all-time leader for the most three-pointers made in a single season (76) and knocked down a program second best seven trifectas in a single game at LIU on March 4. Patterson's seven threes marked the first time this had been down since Vicki Guarneri did so in 1998.
THE PLAYOFF PICTURE • With a win, Central Connecticut will advance to the semis and would face the winner of the #3 St. Francis Brooklyn and #6 LIU Brooklyn quarterfinal game at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, March 8.
