Men's Soccer Wins 3-1 at Howard on Wednesday
The Blue Devils scored three unanswered goals to rally for the win.
Central Connecticut picked up a 3-1 win in men's soccer action at Howard on Wednesday afternoon in Washington, DC. The Blue Devils had three different players score as they erased an early one-goal deficit for the win.
Central improves to 3-3 on the season with the win, while Howard slips to 0-6.
The Bison took the lead early, scoring at the 10:03 mark. Robert Davis scored off an assist from Kyle Celestine.
The Blue Devils quickly rallied with sophomore Andres Muriel Albino taking a pass from freshman Sean Gannon to notch his second goal of the season and tie the game at the 15:56 mark.
Central scored with just over two minutes remaining in the first half to take the lead. Senior Ryan Taylor scored his second goal of the year, and the eventual game-winner, off an assist by junior Louis Beddouri to make it 2-1 at 42:48.
CCSU tacked on a goal early in the second half when Beddouri set up freshman Filippo Pirola for his first career goal at the 55:26 mark to make it 3-1.
The Blue Devils held a 16-9 edge in shots. Beddouri had a team-high six shots to go along with his two assists on the afternoon. Junior Carson D'Ambrosio made two saves in goal for Central.
CCSU will return home on Tuesday, Sept. 19, to host UMass at 7:00 p.m.
