The Central Connecticut men's soccer team picked up a 1-1 tie at Saint Joseph's on Saturday night on Sweeney Field in Philadelphia, PA. The Blue Devils scored in the opening half, but the Hawks would get a goal in the second half. The contest closed out CCSU's non-conference slate and moved the Blue Devils to 3-5-2 on the season.

The Blue Devils opened the scoring quickly at the 5:58 mark when senior DeShawn Parker fed freshman Sean Gannon near the top of the 18-yard box. Gannon's shot found the back of the net for his first career goal to make it 1-0.
The Hawks would trail until just 1:31 remained in the game. SJU's Alvin Dahn passed to Derek MacKinnon, who had his shot deflect off of a save and into the net to send the game to overtime at 1-1.
Neither team would break the deadlock in two overtimes and the game ended 1-1.
Junior Carson D'Ambrosio made two saves for the Blue Devils. The teams ended even in shots, 14-14.
CCSU opened NEC play on Friday, Oct. 6, at home against Robert Morris in a 2:00 p.m. kickoff.
