Morgan Earns adidas/Northeast Conference Weekly Honors
Central Connecticut State University freshman Taylor Morgan received adidas/Northeast Conference Co-Player of the Week and Co-Rookie of the Week honors, as he led the Blue Devils to a record of 2-0-1 this week. The forward tallied three goals and two assists to garner the first conference accolades of his career.

Morgan had a breakout week for the CCSU men's soccer team. The forward came into this week with only one goal and one assist. He more than doubled his season point total in the three games of the week, tallying three goals and two assists during the stretch. Morgan led the Blue Devils to a 2-0-1 record this week, including a win and a tie versus Northeast Conference opponents.
The Southampton, England native led Central with a goal and an assist in a 3-0 non-conference match with Hartford on Tuesday. He scored the first goal of the game after only 47 seconds had passed and then assisted on sophomore Eduardo Ortiz's goal to give CCSU a 2-0 lead.
He went on to record the game-tying assist in a 1-1 double overtime tie with NEC opponent St. Francis (PA) on Friday. With only 13 seconds remaining in regulation he found a streaking Jared Spieker to tie the game for the Blue Devils.
On Sunday Morgan recorded the first multi-goal game of his career, tallying two in a 3-2 NEC win over Robert Morris. CCSU trailed the Colonials, 2-0 before Morgan scored his first goal of the game. He then came up with the late-game heroics and scored the game-winner with just over three minutes remaining in regulation.
Morgan leads the Blue Devils and is tied for second in the NEC with 11 points on the season. His four goals this year are tops for CCSU and tied for third in the conference ranks. Central will next play at Bryant on Sunday October 11 at 3:30 p.m.
