Last Time Out • Central fell to Sacred Heart, 80-78, in overtime on Thursday night. The Blue Devils led by as many as 15 points in the opening half when they shot 7-of-10 from three-point range, but the Pioneers shot 15-of-28 (.536) after the break to rally. Jordan Allen hit a layup with :02 left to send the game to overtime and a layup by Quincy McKnight with .2 to play won it. Freshman Jahlil Nails led four Blue Devils in double-figures with 18 points. Nails hit his first five shots and had 14 points at halftime. Classmate Austin Nehls added 16 points. Cane Broome, the league's leading scorer, scored a game-high 24 points. He had 18 points after halftime to help SHU erase a nine-point deficit.
Scouting Wagner • The Seahawks dropped their first home game of the season, falling to LIU Brooklyn, 71-70, on Thursday. Wagner is now 10-6 overall, 3-2 in the Northeast Conference and 6-1 in home games. Corey Henson (12.9 ppg) and Dwaun Anderson (12.3 ppg) lead the team in scoring. Michael Carey grabs a team-high 8.7 rebounds per game. The Seahawks boast the league's best defense, allowing just 64.9 points per game and holding opponents to .421 shooting percentage. Wagner is also strong on the glass, sporting an NEC-best +6.9 rebounding margin.
