Men's Basketball Hosts Mitchell College in Exhibition on Monday
The Blue Devils open the season in the Connecticut Six Classic on Friday.
Central Connecticut hosts the Mitchell College Mariners on Monday night in an exhibition game at 7:00 p.m. The game will be the first chance to see the Blue Devils during the 2015-16 season. CCSU is coming off a 5-26 season, but welcomes back three starters and a talented group of eight newcomers. The Mariners finished 2014-15 with a 12-13 mark overall and went 9-7 in the NECC.

Preseason Northeast Conference Notes: The Northeast Conference Preseason Coaches Poll was announced at the league's "Social" Media Day held in Brooklyn, NY, on October 27. Mount St. Mary's collected six first-place votes and was tabbed the preseason favorite, followed by Robert Morris and Bryant, who collected three and one first-place vote, respectively. LIU Brooklyn, St. Francis Brooklyn, Wagner, Sacred Heart and Saint Francis U were picked fourth through eighth. Fairleigh Dickinson and Central Connecticut rounded out the poll.
The league's coaches also picked a preseason all-conference team. BK Ashe and Gregory Graves of Mount St. Mary's were joined by Cane Broome (Sacred Heart), Dan Garvin (Bryant) and Rodney Pryor (Robert Morris). Ashe, Graves, Garvin and Pryor were All-NEC picks a year ago, while Broome was an NEC All-Rookie pick last year.
Next Up The Blue Devils open the season on Friday night against Hartford in the Connecticut 6 Classic. CCSU will be hosting the event this year with the tripleheader tipping off at 3:00 p.m. Yale and Fairfield will play the first game, followed by Quinnipiac and Sacred Heart. Central and the Hawks will face each other in the final game of the day, tipping off at 8:00 p.m.
