
Barnum Nabs NEC Special Teams Player Of The Week Honors
Barnum, Howard and Olson tabbed as NEC Prime Performers
For the second time in as many games Central Connecticut State kicker Jack Barnum has been named the Northeast Conference Special Teams Player of the Week. He was also named an NEC Prime Performer, along with Elijah Howard and Brady Olson.
Barnum, a native of Southington, CT, was 3-3 on field goal attempts and converted his lone PAT attempt in the Blue Devils near upset of Yale. Barnum connected from 32, 38, and 42 yards on Saturday. It is the second three-field-goal game of his 16-game CCSU career, equaling the effort from his debut in 2023.
Howard, a Knoxville, TN native, accumulated 215 all-purpose yards, the second most in a game this season in the NEC. He rushed for 108 yards, his second 100-plus effort of the season. He also caught five passes for * yards and had $
The Blue Devils, 2-3 on the season, return home on October 12th to host Mercyhurst at 12:00 pm at Arute Field. It is the Blue Devils' first home game since September 6th, a 33-3 win over Fordham. Mercyhurst, in its first-year as a league member, is not eligible for NEC Football standings and will not be credited to the league record for CCSU.
