2009 Schedule
"We are excited to release our schedule for next season," McInerney said. "We face some strong competition on the road to start the season and prepare us for Northeast Conference action."
Central Connecticut will open the year at Lehigh on Sept. 5. It is the first of three straight road games at the start of the season. The Blue Devils will travel to William & Mary on Sept. 12 before squaring off against Columbia on Sept. 26. The game versus the Lions is the program's first against Ivy League competition during its 70 seasons.
"Getting Ivy League teams on our schedule has always been a goal," McInerney said. "We hope this game opens doors for more opportunities to play against the Ivies. Even more so, we hope it gives us opportunities to play an Ivy League school at Arute Field."
Central Connecticut's home and Northeast Conference schedules get underway when Sacred Heart visits New Britain on Oct. 3. Robert Morris will travel to Arute Field on Oct. 10 in the second four home games. CCSU also has Albany (Oct. 31) and Monmouth (Nov. 14) on the home slate.
Following the contest versus Robert Morris, CCSU will travel to face Duquesne on Oct. 17. The Blue Devils then take a break from league play with an Oct. 24 game at Bryant. They also travel to play Wagner on Nov. 7 and St. Francis (PA) on Nov. 21. The latter will serve as the regular season finale.
