The defensive back made three tackles and had a pass break-up on defense, but made his biggest impact on special teams.
Rush set up the first score of the game with a blocked punt on Delaware State's first possession of the second quarter. With the Hornets punting from their own 26 yard line, the Middletown, CT native blocked the effort to set-up the CCSU offense on the Hornet one yard line. Sophomore Eric Richardson scored two plays later to give the Blue Devils the lead.
The blocked punt was Rush's second this season.
CCSU will open the Northeast Conference season this Saturday, Oct. 4, against Wagner. Kickoff is scheduled for 1 p.m.
