With CCSU's top two linebackers, Chris Stimmel and Blair Smart, departing after last season, Cooke stepped into the middle linebacker spot this year. None of Cooke's 12 stops in the Bryant win were bigger than his last. With under four minutes remaining and CCSU holding a 42-35 lead, Cooke teamed up with Roberto Rodriguez to drop Bryant's Lindsey Gamble for a four-yard loss on third down.
Central Connecticut is back in action this weekend. The Blue Devils will travel to North Dakota State for a match-up with the top-ranked Bison. NDSU is number one in the FCS Coaches' Poll and second in The Sports Network FCS Poll. Kickoff is slated for 7 p.m. EST.
