Jamie Baumert Named to CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District Team
Senior captain Jamie Baumert was awarded for her work on and off the field, receiving CoSIDA/ESPN The Magazine Academic All-District 1 honors, announced Thursday. Baumert earned a first team spot for her accomplishments this year. The Elkhorn, NE native is an elementary education major and will now be placed on the National Ballot for consideration for Academic All-American.

It is the third straight season Baumert has earned the accolades, but the first time she has been a first team selection. The Elkhorn, NE native is an elementary education major and will now be placed on the National Ballot for consideration for Academic All-American.
Baumert has led CCSU to a 14-13 overall record so far this season, with a Northeast Conference mark of 8-3 heading into this weekend's action. The senior leads the Blue Devils with 279 kills and an NEC-leading .381 hitting percentage. The second ranked hitting percentage in the conference is 50 percentage points behind Baumert. She is currently .02 ahead of the Central Connecticut single-season record for hitting percentage.
A three-time All-NEC selection, Baumert also leads Central and is second in the NEC with 114 blocks. The mark ties her single-season best, set last year as a junior. Baumert and the Blue Devils will play host to Sacred Heart and Fairleigh Dickinson in conference play this weekend. The Pioneers come to New Britain on Friday for a 7:00 p.m. start, while the Knights will be in town on Saturday for a 3:00 p.m. match.
