King Leads Central to 3-1 Win Over St. Francis (PA)
Freshman Blaike King led Central Connecticut State University (14-13, 8-3) in kills for the second straight match, as the Blue Devils defeated St. Francis (PA) (7-20, 3-7) by a score of 3-1 (25-15, 25-10, 24-26, 25-14) on Sunday afternoon. King tallied a match-best 14 kills, while adding 11 digs, three aces and three blocks in the victory.

King tallied a match-best 14 kills, while adding 11 digs, three aces and three blocks in the victory.
Central got off to a quick start, winning the first two sets 25-15 and 25-10. The Blue Devils recorded hitting percentages of .400 and .360 in the first and second set, respectively. The Red Flash fought back to win the third set in extra points, before CCSU took care of business in set four, winning 25-14.
Senior captain Jamie Baumert was next on the offensive for CCSU, tallying seven kills in the match on .375 hitting percentage. The middle blocker added five blocks, while junior Tori Vaughan led the Blue Devils with a match-best six blocks.
Junior captain Amanda Bayer recorded two match highs of her own, finishing with 33 assists and 15 digs for Central. Bayer, junior Kaitlin Petrella and sophomore Danielle Gasser each chipped in with two aces in the win.
St. Francis (PA) was led by senior Shirley Miller, who tallied nine kills and 11 digs in the defeat. Freshman Lauren Wingard chipped in with a team high four blocks.
The Blue Devils will host Sacred Heart on Friday, November 6 at 7:00 p.m.
