Baumert Leads Blue Devils in Road Loss to URI
Senior captain Jamie Baumert led the Central Connecticut State University volleyball team with 10 kills and three blocks in a 3-1 (23-25, 25-19, 25-20, 25-16) loss to Rhode Island on the road on Wednesday. The Blue Devils won the first set and then dropped three straight as they fall to 12-11 on the season.

Junior captain Amanda Bayer added 31 assists and eight digs, while junior Kaitlin Petrella led the Blue Devils with 15 digs. Junior Tori Vaughan recorded a match-best four blocks and seven kills in the defeat.
The Rams received double-digit kills from four players, with Kayla Newberg leading the way, tallying 15. Annie Nelson had a match high 38 assists, while Caitlyn Welsh and Kalyn Klaess combined for 33 digs to lead Rhode Island in the victory.
CCSU will return to Northeast Conference action on Saturday October 24 with a road match against Sacred Heart.
