Olmstead, Snyder Combine for 36 Kills in 3-1 Victory at St. Francis (PA)
The Central Connecticut volleyball team posted a 3-1 victory over St. Francis (PA) on the road on Saturday in the first match of their Pennsylvania swing to end the regular season. CCSU, now 11-12 overall and 5-2 in the Northeast Conference, were led by Amanda Olmstead and Lauren Snyder who each posted 18 kills in the victory. CCSU plays on Sunday at Robert Morris to end the regular season.

over St. Francis (PA) on the road on Saturday in the first match of
their Pennsylvania swing to end the regular season. CCSU, now
11-12 overall and 5-2 in the Northeast Conference, were led by Amanda Olmstead and Lauren Snyder who each posted 18 kills in the
victory. CCSU plays on Sunday at Robert Morris to end the regular
season.
The Blue Devils won the first two sets (25-19, 25-23) to take
control of the match against the Red Flash before the home team
rebounded to win the third set 25-16. Central Connecticut secured
its fifth conference win of the season with a 25-18 win of the
fourth and deciding set.
Snyder and Omstead each posted a match-high 18 kills for the
visiting team to lead the Blue Devils to the victory. Olmstead
also added 11 digs and a pair of service aces. Sophomore Amanda Bayer had 44 assists and 12 digs for
CCSU. Kaitlin Petrella led the Blue Devils defense with
19 digs in the match.
Central Connecticut held St. Francis (PA) to a .119 hitting
percentage in the match. They had nine total blocks in the game
including a team-high five by Jamie
Baumert.
With the win the Blue Devils move to 5-2 in NEC play heading into
Sunday's match at league-leader Robert Morris. The match is
scheduled to begin at 3 p.m. and is the regular season finale for
CCSU.
