Sophomore Lauren Snyder Named NEC Player of the Week
Sophomore Lauren Snyder was named the Northeast Conference women's volleyball player of the week, announced Tuesday. Snyder and the Blue Devils were 2-1 last week with wins against Iona and Bucknell. CCSU remains at 2-1 and will welcome St. John's to Detrick Gymnasium for a non-conference match on Wednesday September 3 at 7:00 p.m.

Snyder earns Player of the Week honors for the second time in her career after leading Central to a 2-1 record in the CCSU Blue Devil Invitational over the weekend. The Fort Mitchell, KY native led the Blue Devils in kills in each of the matches in the tournament. She put forth an 11 kill five dig performance to lead CCSU past Bucknell 3-0 in their season opener. After recording 12 double-doubles in 2007, Snyder notched her first of this season with a 20 kill and 13 dig performance to lead the Blue Devils past Iona in a 3-2 match. In Central's only loss of the tournament, the outside hitter tallied another 18 kills and eight digs.
The sophomore now leads CCSU in kills with 49 (4.08 per game)
and is third on the team in digs and service aces with 25 and 4,
respectively.
