Blue Devils Take 800 Freestyle Relay on First Night of NEC Championships
CCSU looking for their second straight and fifth NEC title
The quest for their second straight and fifth overall Northeast Conference championship began on Wednesday night for the Central Connecticut women's swimming and diving team. The Blue Devils began their defense with a win in the 800 Freestyle Relay on Wednesday night, setting a new NEC Championship record with a time of 7:24.89.
RESULTS
The Blue Devils and Wagner, who finished second in the 800 free relay, are tied for first place after the first night of events.
Sophomore Lauren Rasile, junior Christine Rasile, sophomore Lauren Czulewicz and freshman Aidan Devers set the new conference mark for the Blue Devils in the 800 free relay. The time also set a new school record for the Blue Devils.
Central added a second place finish in the 200 Medley Relay in the night's first event. Freshman Kaitlyn Troy, sophomore Maddy Garber, junior Sabree Thomas and Lauren Rasile swam a time of 1:42.19 to finish in second.
Wagner took first in the event with a new conference record of 1:40.52. CCSU was second, followed by LIU Brooklyn.
