Women's Hoop Faces Fordham on the Road Sunday, 2 P.M.
The CCSU women's basketball team travels to Fordham on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils and Rams are scheduled to tip-off at 2 p.m. inside Rose Hill Gym.
The Central Connecticut women's basketball team (2-7) heads down to the Bronx, NY to face-off with the Fordham Rams (3-7) on Sunday afternoon. The Blue Devils and Rams met twice last season, including a post-season meeting in the Bronx in the first round of the WNIT where Fordham just edged Central, 70-67, to sneak away with the victory back on Mar. 19. The Blue Devils will look for revenge on Sunday as they head back down to Rose Hill Gym for a 2 p.m. tip-off with the Rams. All of the action can be seen live, for free, on the A10 Digital Network.

Tip-off is scheduled for 2 p.m. inside Rose Hill Gym. The Blue Devils are 0-6 on the road this season and the Rams sport a 2-2 mark at home. CCSU is 1-0 againt the A10 this season with a 78-68 overtime win over UMass.
Previously For Both Teams • The Blue Devils are coming off a 78-68 overtime victory at home last Saturday over the UMass Minutewomen that snapped a six game losing streak. Senior TeJahne Malone hit a foul line jumper with 1.7 seconds remaining in regulation to tie the game, 60-60, and force the extra period. Junior Aleah Epps would go for a career-high 24 points in the game and hit seven-of-eight free throws in overtime to seal the victory for the Blue Devils. Fordham is coming off a 55-44 setback on the road to Princeton last Monday. The Rams are currently on a three game slide.
Series History (1-3) • Today's game marks the fifth meeting all-time between the Blue Devils and Rams at the Division I level. Fordham holds a a slight 3-1 edge in the series after picking up a pair victories last season over CCSU. The two teams met twice last year, first during the regular season on Dec. 9 where Fordham won 72-36 in New Britain, and then again in the post-season in the first round on the WNIT on Mar. 19 where the Rams snuck away with a 70-67 win inside Rose Hill Gym.
Scouting Fordham • The Rams are 3-7 on the year and are currently on a three game losing streak. They are 2-2 at home, 1-3 on the road and 0-2 on neutral courts. Fordham averages 54.6 ppg as a team this season and they are led by Samantha Clark who averages 12.7 ppg. Two other Rams average in double-figures, Hannah Missry accounts for 11.6 ppg and G'mrice Davis scores 10.3 ppg heading into today's contest. Clark is a 6-2 forward that does most of her damage around the rim and is currently shooting 53.2% (50-94) from the floor, while Missry is the Rams sharpshooter connecting on 44.3% (31-70) of her attempts from beyond the arc.
NEC Co-Player of the Week • Junior Aleah Epps was named the NEC WBB Co-Player of the Week on Monday after leading the Blue Devils with a career-high 24 points in CCSU's 78-68 overtime win over A10 member UMass at home last Saturday (12/12). Epps shot 50.0% (5-10) from the floor in the game, including 75.0% (3-4) from distance. She also was 11-of-12 from the free throw line to help her eclipse the 20-point mark for the first time in her career. Epps was clutch down the stretch sinking 10 points in the overtime period, sinking a three and converting on seven-of-eight free throw attempts to seal the win for CCSU. The point guard also had four assists and three steals to one turnover in 39 minutes of action.
In Malone We Trust • With the Blue Devils trailing 60-58, senior TeJahne Malone hit a foul line jumper with 1.7 seconds remaining to tie the game and force overtime against UMass last Saturday (12/12). Following a CCSU timeout, Epps' initial drive was bottled up, but she was able to eventually sneak past her defender and drive baseline before firing a one-handed pass to Malone at the foul line for the game tying bucket just before the buzzer sounded. Malone ended up finishing the game with 12 points and seven boards for Central.
Five in Double-Figures • Five Blue Devils finished in double-figures against UMass. Epps led the way with 24 and she was joined by Camden Musgrave (13), Malone (12), Kayla Miller (11) and Emma Stroyan (10). All five are the typical starters for CCSU and they all played over 30 minutes in the game. They accounted for 70 of the Blue Devils 78 points in the game and it marked the first time since Nov. 22, 2014 that CCSU had five scorers in double-digits.
Road Rage • The Blue Devils opened the 2015-16 season playing six of their first eight games on the road. Central's game at the Cross Insurance Center in Bangor, ME ended a tough three-game road swing for the Blue Devils and marked the fourth road contest in five games to start the year. Central is currently 0-6 on the road this season and will return to the road next at Fordham on Dec. 20.
