What's Happening
The Blue Devils host Hartford on Tuesday at 7 p.m., followed by a trip to Hofstra on
Sunday, Dec. 15 at 1 p.m. Following the Hofstra game Central will play two straight at
home and six of the next seven at Detrick Gym, including their Northeast Conference
opener on Jan. 9 vs. Wagner. The only road games in the next 39 calendar days are at
Hofstra and then at Coastal Carolina on Jan. 3.
Last Time Out
The Blue Devils played tough at #5 Ohio State (now #3) on Saturday but fell 74-56 after a
10-0 second half run by the Buckeyes helped break the game open. The lead was down
to eight before Ohio State used the run to push it back to 18 with 9:57 to play. The Blue
Devils would get no closer than 13 the rest of the way. Junior Faronte Drakeford had 12,
as did freshman Matt Mobley, a new career-high.
SERIES HISTORY - 43rd Meeting - Blue Devils Lead 27-15
The Blue Devils and Hawks are meeting today for the 43rd time in their history. Central
has won six of the last seven meetings in the series. The history between the two
programs dates back to 1958-59, when the Blue Devils won both meetings between
the two programs. Since turning Division I, the two programs have met 13 times, with
Central holding a 7-6 edge. Head Coach Howie Dickenman is 6-3 all-time vs. the Hawks.
