Matt Hunter Wins Second Straight Blue Devil Run
Senior leads Blue Devils at the 'unofficial start' of the basketball season
Senior Matt Hunter won his second straight Blue Devil run on Wednesday afternoon in New Britain. The run signals the unofficial start of the 2013-14 men's basketball season for the Blue Devils. The first official practice for Central will be this coming Friday, September 27.

CCSU 2013-14 MEN'S BASKETBALL SCHEDULE
The Blue Devil run takes place on a 3.7 mile course adjacent to the Central campus, and has been an annual event at the beginning of the basketball season since head coach Howie Dickenman took over the men's basketball program 18 years ago.
The Blue Devils open the season on Saturday, Nov. 9 in the Annual CT6 Classic vs. Yale beginning at 5:30 p.m.
Hunter ran a time of 23:10 to finish first, followed by freshman Kevin Mickle at 23:56 and junior Kyle Vinales at 24:43. Redshirt freshman Khalen Cumberlander was fourth with a time of 24:54, followed by senior De'Angelo Speech (25:15), sophomore Andrew Hurd (25:37), sophomore Brandon Peel (25:56) and junior Greg Andrade (25:57).
Following Andrade was junior Faronte Drakeford (26:48), freshman Matt Mobley (27:06), junior Malcolm McMillan and freshman Ahmaad Wilson (27:27) finished in a dead heat, while junior Juwan Newmen finished at 28:58 and senior Terrell Allen came in at 31:49.
All 14 players on the roster ran in the Blue Devil Run.
