Men's Hoop Releases Non-Conference Slate
Blue Devils will play at Syracuse and Indiana
Head Coach Howie Dickenman announced his 2012-13 non-conference schedule on Tuesday. The Blue Devils will open the season on Friday night, November 10 at the fourth-annual Connecticut 6 Classic, this year being held at the University of Hartford. Central will take on Fairfield for the second time in the four-year history of the Classic.
Also highlighted the non-conference schedule are trips to Indiana and Syracuse for the first-ever match-up with each of those storied programs. Syracuse finished fifth in last season's final ESPN/USA Today Coaches Poll. Indiana was 13th in the same poll.
"As always, this is a very strong non-conference schedule," Dickenman said. "We have a chance to face teams from the Big East, Big-10, MAAC, Ivy League, Atlantic-10, America East and the CAA. This might be as challenging a non-conference slate as we have put together in quite some time. We are excited to get started."
Following the game vs. Fairfield, Central will travel to St. Peter's on November 12, followed by the home-opener vs. Brown on November 15.
After the Brown game the Blue Devils will take to the road for five straight games. They will play at LaSalle (Nov. 18), at UMBC (Nov. 20), at Hartford (Nov. 24), at New Hampshire (Dec. 5) and then at Indiana (Dec. 8).
The Blue Devils return home on December 21 hosting Northeastern, followed by a home game vs. St. Peter's on Dec. 29. They end the non-conference season, and the calendar year, at Syracuse on December 31.
