Blue Devils open the season on Nov. 11 vs. Yale at the Connecticut 6 Classic
The Central Connecticut men's basketball team officially opened practice for the 2011-12 season on Friday night in New Britain.
The Blue Devils, under 16-year head coach Howie Dickenman, open the season at the Connecticut 6 Classic at the Mohegan Sun Arena on Friday night, Nov. 11 at 8 p.m. against Yale.

Central finished the 2010-11 season 19-12 overall and 11-7 in Northeast Conference play. They were the fourth seed in the NEC Tournament before falling to eventual champion Long Island in the semifinals.
Central returns a pair of 1,000 point scorers to the squad in 2011-12.
Leading scorer and rebounder Ken Horton, the 2010-11 NEC Player of the Year, enters the season with 1,435 career points and 592 career rebounds. He led the NEC in scoring last season at 19.5 points per game. He is 10th on the all-time scoring list for the Blue Devils.
Classmate Robby Ptacek also returns to the lineup after averaging 14.9 points per game last season. He enters the season with 1,028 career points, 32nd on the all-time list at CCSU.
