Horton Has Solid Outing at Portsmouth
CCSU's all-time leading scorer will play again on Friday night
Ken Horton, the leading scorer in Central Connecticut men's basketball history, had a solid outing in his first game at the prestigious Portsmouth Invitational on Thursday night. Horton helped lead his team, Roger Brown's, to a 74-71 victory over Sales System LTD in the first round of the tournament.
Horton scored 12 points and grabbed eight rebounds and a pair of assists in the victory. His team advances to play on Friday night at 9 p.m. against Portsmouth Partnership, an 85-79 winner in their first game of the tournament.
Horton finished the game 5-of-16 from the field, 0-for-2 from three, and 2-of-2 from the free-throw line. He played a team-high 32 minutes and was a starter.
