Junior defensive back named to the Third Team on Tuesday
Junior defensive back Jevon Elmore, one of four captains for the Blue Devils this season, was named to the STATS FCS All America Third Team on Tuesday. Elmore and the Blue Devils tied for third in the Northeast Conference this season with a 3-3 league record.
Earlier this fall Elmore was named a First Team All-Conference selection after a standout junior season with the Blue Devils.
Elmore finished third on the team in tackles in 2015 with 71, including 49 solo and three for a loss. He played in all 11 games and was named the league's Defensive Player of the Week after a stellar performance in a road win at Sacred Heart. He was second on the team in interceptions with two, and posted an impressive 16 pass break-ups on the year, leading the NEC and finishing second in the country in that category.
Elmore's 18 total passes defended (16 PBU and two interceptions) were tied for the second-highest total in the country. He was one of only eight players in the entire country to post 18 or more passes defended. His 1.6 passes defended per game were also tied for second in the country.
