Williams Named All-New England
Senior defensive lineman was also named All-NEC this season
Senior defensive lineman Charles Williams was named to the New England Football Writers' All-New England football team on Tuesday. Williams was also a First Team All-Northeast Conference selection in his senior season for the Blue Devils.
All-New England players, along with current team captains, will be honored at the New England Football Writers Banquet on Thursday, December 8, at the Montvale Plaza, in Stoneham, Mass.
"We are so proud of Charlie and everything that he has accomplished in his time as a Blue Devil," head coach Jeff McInerney said on Tuesday. "We was a hard worker and it showed on the football field every Saturday. He had a tremendous season and it is great to see him recognized for it by the conference and now by the New England Football Writers."
Williams led the team with 13 tackles for a loss, including 6.5 sacks, one forced fumble and one pass break-up. He recently earned NEC Defensive Player of the Week honors after the win at Bryant. Williams was third on the team in tackles with 66.
