Kaprelyan Named ECAC Offensive Player of the Year
The junior was also named to the All-ECAC Team.
Junior Madelyn Kaprelyan of the Central Connecticut volleyball team was named the ECAC Offensive Player of the Year it was announced Thursday. Kaprelyan became the first Blue Devil in program history to be named Northeast Conference Player of the Year earlier this season. She also earned a spot on the All-ECAC Team.
Kaprelyan had an outstanding junior year. She was Named Northeast Conference Player of the Year after ranking third in the conference in hitting percentage (.293) fifth in kills per set (3.24) and recording nine double-doubles on the year. She had a season high 23 kills against Sacred Heart University and a career high 24 assists against Saint Francis University. Overall Kaprelyan had 309 kills, 269 assists, 134 digs and 68 total blocks. A three-time Molten/NEC Player of the Week, Kaprelyan is a two-time all-conference selection.
Central was 13-13 in 2018 with a 10-4 record in conference play. The Blue Devils finished the regular season tied for second in the NEC standings and qualified for the league's postseason.
