Kaprelyan Named Molten/NEC Volleyball Player of the Week
The junior has won the Player of the Week honor in each of the last three weeks.
Junior Madelyn Kaprelyan was named the Molten/Northeast Conference Volleyball Player of the Week it was announced by the league office on Monday. Kaprelyan led the Blue Devils to a pair of wins last weekend en route to being named the Player of the Week for the third straight week.
Kaprelyan and the Blue Devils will be back in action on Friday night when they host Bryant at 7:00 p.m.
Kaprelyan has caught fire in NEC play and has led CCSU to a 5-1 start in league action. The junior posted her third triple-double of the season - ranking her among the national leaders - with a career-high 23 kills, 19 assists and 11 digs in a 3-1 win over Sacred Heart on Saturday. She even made a run at a quadruple-double with seven blocks. Kaprelyan completed a routine double-double by her standards with 12 kills and 11 assists in a sweep against Fairleigh Dickinson a day earlier.
She averaged 5.0 kills, 4.29 assists, 2.0 digs and 1.0 block per set over the two matches while also finishing with a robust .397 hitting percentage. The Huntington Beach, CA native has posted seven straight double-doubles and currently leads the NEC with a .311 hitting percentage while sitting third in kills per set with 3.34. Kaprelyan became the first conference player to win three straight NEC Player of the Week honors since LIU Brooklyn's Annika Foit back in 2014.
