Galabova Named Molten/NEC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
Galabova and the Blue Devils will be back in action on Saturday night when they travel to Bryant at 6:00 p.m.
Junior Gala Galabova was named the Molten/Northeast Conference Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week it was announced by the league office on Monday. Galabova led the Blue Devils to a pair of wins last weekend, posting 1.56 blocks/set.
Galabova and the Blue Devils will be back in action on Saturday night when they travel to Bryant at 6:00 p.m.
Galabova was a defensive machine at the net over the weekend in the pair of Blue Devil road wins over Robert Morris and Saint Francis U. The Bulgaria native registered 14 blocks, good for a 1.56 blocks per set average to help improve Central to 7-2 in NEC play. Galabova, a 6-3 outside hitter, blocked six Colonials attempts on Friday before denying the Red Flash eight times in a five-set win on Saturday. She now leads the Northeast Conference with 1.29 blocks per set this season.
Galabova has five or more blocks in a match 10 times this season. She matched a season-high with eight blocks at SFU.
