Softball Drops Two to Undefeated Saint Francis
The Central Connecticut softball team was unable to hold off the Saint Francis Red Flash as they fell in game one 6-1 and 2-0 in game two.
Kaylee Whittaker suffered the loss in game one after going the distance for the Blue Devils giving up five earned runs. Jasmine Lasane had The Blue Devils loan RBI with a base hit.
Grace Vesco (11-6) let up just two hits and zero earned runs for The Red Flash.
Liz Hamilton (6-3) went the distance for Central and gave up just two runs off six hits. KC Machado had two hits for Central including a double. earned her sixth win of the season.
Rachel Marsden earned her 12th win for Saint Francis in the circle. Olivia Ulam led Saint Francis with two hits and an RBI in game two.

TOP 1ST: The Saint Francis Red Flash got on the board early with four first-inning runs on three hits.
BOTTOM 2ND: Brooke Fedison drew a two-out walk for The Blue Devils. Jazmin Lasane served a single into right field that was mishandled by the Red Flash Right fielder allowing Fedison to score from first and Central cut the lead to 4-1.
TOP 7TH: Saint Francis scored three runs in the top of the final inning to pad a 6-1 lead over CCSU.
KEY MOMENTS – GAME TWO
TOP 3RD: Red Flash shortstop Kaylee Walters singled with one out and stole second to set up Ashley Wruble for an RBI single and Saint Francis took a 1-0 lead.
BOTTOM 4TH: Central had their best opportunity to score when KC Machado doubled in the right field gap to move runners at second and third with two outs. The Blue Devils were unable to cash in and Saint Francis held their 1-0 advantage.
TOP 7TH: Lauren Aubrey laid down a bunt single to lead off the inning and a Red Flash player was hit by a pitch to place runners on first and second. Slap hitter Kaylee Walters was thrown out by Paige Stringer, but not before the runners advanced to second and third. Saint Francis pushed across the run via a sac fly, and they led 2-0.

The Red Flash lead the all-time series 27-18 and The Blue Devils have dropped their last five against the current number one team in the conference.
