The Central Connecticut men's soccer team fell to Yale on Friday afternoon. The loss drops the Blue Devils to 0-2 on the season, while Yale improves to 1-0. Central surrendered a single goal in the first half and another in the second to drop the match 2-0.
Yale's first goal of the game came late in the first half, with only 24 seconds remaining in the period. Yale's Max McKiernan took a crossing pass and scored from 10 yards out. Yale added another goal in the second half, this time it was Max Morice scoring the final goal of the match, 22 minutes into the second period.
The Blue Devils attacked on offense, but came up short. Freshman Stephen Walmsley, sophomore Eddy Bogle and junior Reece Wilson all registered multiple shots, but none found the mark.
In the net junior goalkeeper Ian McDonald-Wilkins made a pair of saves in the first half, but also surrendered a goal. Junior Anthony Occhialini took over at the half and made a pair of saves, but he also allowed a score.
The Blue Devils will return to action on Tuesday night when they host Hartford at Willow Brook Park beginning at 7 p.m.
