Jones Named NEC Men's Basketball Co-Player of the Week
Central Connecticut's Jordan Jones was named the Northeast Conference Men's Basketball co-Player of the Week it was announced by the league office on Monday. Jones collected the honor for the second time this season and shared the award with Jordan Derkack of Merrimack.
Jones was a catalyst for the Blue Devils a pair of victories that kept CCSU tied for 1st in the league standings. He posted 22.0 ppg, 3.5 rpg, 2.5 spg and shot a red-hot 61.5 percent from the field, including 54.5 percent from three-point land. He scored a career-best 33 points in a win over SHU ending a 15-game slide for the Blue Devils in the series. He shot 11-of-16 overall and hit a career-high five three-pointers. Jones matched his previous career-best with 22 points in the second half. Jones finished with 11 points in Saturday's win over FDU.
CCSU travels to Le Moyne on Thursday in its only game of the week.
