Men's Basketball Announces Signing of Roddy Jones
Central Connecticut head men's basketball coach Patrick Sellers has announced the addition of Roddy Jones, who signed a National Letter of Intent to the join program for the 2024-25 season. A highly-regarded shooter, Jones is the first commitment CCSU has received for next season.
Jones is a sharp-shooting guard from North Babylon, NY, who currently plays for head coach Jim McCarthy at Cheshire Academy. Regarded as one of the top shooters in his class, he transferred to Cheshire Academy and earned All-NEPSAC Class-AA Honorable Mention honors following his first season with the school. He began his high school career at St. John the Baptist High School on Long Island and was named to the All-Suffolk County Team for the Alzheimer's All-Star Basketball Classic following his sophomore year. He earned a spot on Newsday's list of the top 100 players on Long Island following his junior season.
"We are very excited to add an athlete of Roddy's caliber to our program," said Sellers. "He is a talented shooter and a very smart basketball player. We look forward to him joining the Central Connecticut basketball family."
The Blue Devils continue the 2023-24 season with a game at Quinnipiac on Friday afternoon.
