Bio

Kevin Papacs begins his fifth full season on the staff of the Blue Devils, this season serving as the senior staff supervisor.  A long-time member of the Blue Devil men’s basketball family, Papacs rejoined the staff during the middle of the 2004-05 season and had an immediate impact on the program.  

During his five seasons with the Blue Devils, the team has posted a league record of 56-34 and advanced to the Northeast Conference Tournament in all five years.   In 2006-07, Papacs and the Blue Devils posted a memorable run in NEC play winning 16 of 18 league games and three straight games in the NEC Tournament to advance to their third NCAA Tournament since 2000.  In the past five seasons, the Blue Devils have averaged 16 overall wins per season.  During the same time, CCSU is 48-23 at home, including 33-12 in home regular season NEC action.

In total, Papacs is beginning his 13th year as a member of the CCSU men’s basketball program.  Before his return to Central he was an assistant coach at the University of Bridgeport.  Prior to his time at Bridgeport, Papacs served as the senior staff supervisor for the Blue Devils for two seasons.  

Papacs assists with the direction of the Howie Dickenman Basketball School which holds camps for boys and girls every summer in several Connecticut cities and towns.  He assists with the every day responsibilities of the camp as well as various administrative and instructional duties that go along with camp operation.
