DelaCruz Earns ABCA Regional Honor
Junior led the Blue Devils in hitting at .352 and was a First Team All-Conference pick
Central Connecticut junior outfielder Dylan DelaCruz was named to the ABCA Northeast Regional Second-Team on Tuesday. DelaCruz, a First Team All-Northeast Conference selection as a junior, led the Blue Devils in hitting with a .352 average in his third season in New Britain.
DelaCruz, a Second Team All-Conference selection a year ago as a sophomore, led the Blue Devils and finished sixth in the NEC in hitting during the regular season at .352. He played and started all 53 of the Blue Devils' games this season, all in the outfield.
His 74 hits led the team and were fourth in the league. His 17 doubles put him second in the conference. His slugging percentage of .567 was also second in the league and led the team.
DelaCruz also finished tied for seventh in runs scored (42), third in triples (5), tied for second in home runs (6) and led the league in total bases (119).
