Second Half Rally Comes Just Short for Blue Devils
Central Connecticut women's basketball's second half rally came up just short Saturday as the Blue Devils were defeated 58-65. CCSU was trailing 41-16 at the start of the second half.

KEY MOMENTS
- After a quick three from Eden Nibbelink started off the game, the Blue Devils were held to just two makes the rest of the first quarter, shooting only 17.6 percent from the floor.
- While CCSU's woes on offense continued into the second quarter, Wagner's offense lit things up from the field, shooting 11-17 from the floor and outscoring the Blue Devils 24-7.
- The two team's seemingly switched at halftime, as the second half was all CCSU, specifically the fourth quarter. Forever Toppin ignited the offense with two quick buckets to start the third quarter, the second basket on a perfectly placed runner in traffic. She followed it up with a block on the other end.
- Amaya Williams started off the fourth quarter with back-to-back and-one plays. Toppin followed it up with a steal, score and steal again. The Blue Devils grabbed five straight offensive rebounds before Williams scored again.
- With 1:05 remaining, Toppin hit two free throws to get CCSU within single digits for the first time since 8:15 in the second quarter.
- A three pointer from Williams cut the Wagner lead to four, but the Blue Devils fell just short of the comeback.
NOTES
- CCSU honored its five seniors, Toppin, Nibbelink, Ashley Berube, Carly Reynolds and Angelique Rodriguez before tip-off.
- CCSU grabbed 21 offensive rebounds in the game, with four coming from Reynolds.
