KEY MOMENTS
- The first quarter of Tuesday's game set the Blue Devils behind early. Eden Nibbelink hit a jumper to halt a 7-0 Great Dane run, but the Blue Devils went scoreless over the next five minutes and the only other point to come in the first came from the line.
- The two teams went basket-for-basket through the early goings of the second quarter. After knocking down a shot from the line, Claire Sutherland-Case drained a three pointer that cut UAlbany's lead down to four. The Great Danes snapped off a 14-3 run to end the first half, though, and headed into the break up 30-15.
- A three from Dejah Jenkins and a layin from Nibbelink is just what the doctor ordered to start the second half with. Belle Lanpher hit a jumper after that to cut the lead to single digits, but the Great Dane offense exploded once more. Jenkins drilled another three to break up the run, but UAlbany was able to extend their advantage by a point, setting up a 47-31 game heading into the final frame.
- CCSU's offense clicked when they needed to to start the fourth, opening things up with an 11-3 run. Forever Toppin contributed six of the Blue Devils' 11 points during the run, which once again brought CCSU to within single digits (50-42 UAlbany lead).
- The Blue Devils continuted to chip away, but the Great Danes did not let up the slack on their lead. One final three from Lanpher brought CCSU to within nine again, but UAlbany was ultimately able to close out the game.
NOTES
- This is the first game this season that Berube has not scored in double figures for the Blue Devils.
- Toppin led the offense with 10 points on the night. She made eight of those in the fourth quarter.
- Toppin and Kennefick both hustled for three steals in the game. This is the third game this year that Toppin has notched three takeaways (Quinnipiac, Rutgers).
- The Blue Devils tied their season low in rebounds with 14 against the Great Danes.
