KEY MOMENTS
- CCSU had a tough start to the game with three quick turnovers that led to a 10-2 Bryant lead. Ashley Berube and Belle Lanpher dropped in a three each to get the Blue Devils' juices flowing on offense, and a block from Claire Sutherland-Case set up another Berube bucket that brought CCSU to within four. Meghan Kenefick splashed another three for CCSU before the Bulldogs ended the first quarter on a score.
- Amaya Williams cashed in a three just seven seconds into the second quarter, cutting Bryant's lead to one. Free throws from Lanpher would give CCSU its first lead of the game.
- Lanpher was the spark that kept the Blue Devils flowing through the second quarter, diving for 50/50 balls and going for every charge in sight. And it worked for CCSU. The Blue Devils headed into halftime with back-to-back-to-back-to-back (that's four, for those keeping track at home) three pointers that pushed them out to a huge 43-35 lead.
- The Blue Devils were not done pushing yet, though. They started the second half on an 11-3 run, with Forever Toppin scoring eight of those points. She hit clutch threes back-to-back that got Detrick Gymnasium roaring and put CCSU up 54-38.
- The Bulldogs were able to draw closer to the Blue Devils after this, but a foul on a three pointer from Sutherland-Case and a jumper from Lanpher sent CCSU into the final frame of play with a 61-47 lead.
- Bryant came within seven points of CCSU a few times in the fourth, but a dagger three from Nibbelink truly iced this one.
NOTES
- Four Blue Devils scored in double figures on Thursday, with Lanpher leading the way with 15 points.
- Toppin grabbed five steals in the contest, a season high for a Blue Devil.
- Nibbelink and Sutherland-Case each grabbed nine boards to lead CCSU, and each had a pair of blocks.
