Women's Hoops Snaps Losing Streak
Central Connecticut women's basketball snapped its eight-game losing skid with an emphatic win over the Merrimack Warriors on the Blue Devils' home court. Four Blue Devils scored in double figures, led by Dejah Jenkins' monster 18 point performance.

KEY MOMENTS
- Ashley Berube scored six quick points to start off the game and give CCSU a good launching point, but the Warriors retaliated with short spurts of offense that eventually put them up 20-15. Merrimack ended the quarter with a 21-17 advantage,
- The Blue Devil offense fired on all cylinders in the second quarter.The team shot 55.0 percent from the floor and connected on 66.7 percent of their long range shots, starting with a three from Berube that kicked off the quarter.
- Trailing 26-28, two buckets from Jenkins and a dagger of a three from Belle Lanpher put CCSU up 33-29 in less than a minute's worth of time.
- CCSU's offense was not as red-hot to start the second half and needed some thawing out to stay in the game. The Warriors brought the game to within a point multiple times throughout the third quarter of play, but the Blue Devils did not waiver and went into the final frame with a 60-51 lead.
- Both of CCSU's point guards took over in the fourth quarter. Forever Toppin scored five points in the quarter, including a deep three, while Lanpher dropped six, boosting the Blue Devils to the finish line.
NOTES
- The Blue Devils outrebounded the Warriors 31-21. This was most glaring in the third quarter of play, when the Blue Devils were able to grab 14 to Merrimack's 6.
- Jenkins' 18 matches a season high that she previously reached against NJIT on November 21.
