Track & Field in Action at New England and IC4A Championships
The Central Connecticut track team's were in action at the New England Championships and the IC4A Championships on Friday. The Blue Devils posted several strong performances including Junior Sam Alexander's second place finish in the 10,000 meter run.
Men's Track
The Central Connecticut men's track team competed in split squad action on Saturday. Some Blue Devils were in action at the New England Championships and others at the IC4A Championships.
At the IC4A's junior Sam Alexander finished second in the 10,000 meter with a time of 30:13.31. Sophomore teammate Craig Hunt finished 12th with a time of 30:54.50.
At the New England Championships, sophomore John Krell ran the 10,000 in 31:51.81. He finished 10th with that performance.
Freshman Budd Ryan finished 13th in the 400 meter hurdles. He posted a time of 55.67 seconds in the event. Harry Lewis finished 15th in the 100 meter. He posted an 11.25 second time.
The Blue Devils will return to action tomorrow as they continue at the IC4As.
Women's Track
The Central Connecticut women's track team competed at the New England Championships on Friday. The Blue Devils turned in several good performances at the meet.
Freshman Meghan Burns finished 13th in the 400 meter. She posted a time of 59.15 seconds. In the 100 meter hurdles Dara Edge posted a time of 15.50 seconds in the 100 meter hurdles. She finished 20th.
Freshman Krisztina Dearborn finished ninth in the 10,000 meter run. She posted a time of 38:44.22 to earn her place.
