It is the first weekly award of the outdoor season for the NEC's 2011 Indoor Track Most Valuable Performer. Radden excelled this past week at the UConn Husky Invitational, winning the 200 and finishing second in the 100 meter dash.
Radden doubled in the sprints at the UConn Husky Invitational and produced the NEC's top 100-meter and 200-meter dash times while doing so. The two-time NEC Indoor MVP has made himself the early favorite to capture the outdoor titles that eluded him in 2010.
Radden ran away with the 200-meter crown at UConn, clocking in at 21.21s. The time was two-tenths of a second better than the event runner-up and currently ranks amongst the top-60 leading marks in all of NCAA Division I.
He nearly picked up a second gold medal in the 100-meter dash at UConn, but settled for silver. He clocked in at 10.72s in the 100m final, finishing only thousandths of a second behind gold medalist Jesse Drinks of meet host Connecticut. Both Radden's 100-meter and 200-meter times surpass the qualifying standards for the IC4A Championships in May.
Radden and the Blue Devils will return to action this Firday at the Bucknell Invitational.
