Men's Track Second at UMass
The Central Connecticut men's track team finished second at the UMass Minuteman Invitational on Saturday. The Blue Devils scored 104 team points. Sophomore Aaron Radden led the way with wins in the 100 and 200 meter sprint events.
The Central Connecticut men's track team finished second at the UMass Minuteman Invitational on Saturday. The Blue Devils scored 104 team points. Sophomore Aaron Radden led the way with wins in the 100 and 200 meter sprint events.
Radden ran a 10.83 second time in the 100 to take the top points. He returned to the track to run a 21.43 second 200 meter also grabbing first place.
Sophomore Anthony Gonslaves and senior Robert Weston took the top two spots in the 3,000 meter steeplechase. Gonslaves ran a 9:43.10 and Weston crossed the line at 10:00.09
In the field events junior Rashad Williams won the discus with a 44.13 meter toss. Junior Matt Berube finished third in the long jump with a 6.18 meter jump. Junior Nick Trifone and senior Eric Rathburn finished two-three in the high jump. Trifone cleared 1.94 meters and Rathburn 1.89 meters.
The Blue Devil men will return to action on Saturday in split squad fashion. Most of the Blue Devils will be traveling to Holy Cross and a small group will be running at LSU.
