Smith Qualifies For Finals In 200, 400 at New Englands
Senior Sean Smith qualified for the finals in the 200 and 400 meters at the New England Outdoor Track and Field Championships at UMass. He crossed the line in 21.85 seconds in the 200 and 48.60 in the 400 meters. Five other Central Connecticut student-athletes finished in the the top 25 in their respective events on Saturday.

Freshman Matt Berube placed ninth in the long jump, recording a distance of 6.73 meters. Brian Lowe and Dionis White were 21st and 24th in the 100 and 400 meters, respectively. Lowe finished in 11.27 seconds, while White recorded a time of 22.98 seconds. Kevin Tiernan took 17th in the 10,000 meter run, finishing in 34:20.61. Senior Clinton DePaolo was the final Blue Devil to place in the top 25, taking 14th in the 110 meter hurdles. He crossed the line in 15.74 seconds.
The final day of competition will be on Saturday in Amherst, MA.
