Qualter Earns Another NEC Weekly Honor
Freshman helped lead CCSU to home shutout on Friday night
Freshman defender Conor Qualter has been named the Northeast Conference Rookie of the Week on Monday, it was announced by the NEC. Qualter and Blue Devils remain undefeated in league play, posting a 4-0 record heading into a week which will see them play three home games.
Central hosts Yale on Tuesday night, and then returns to league play on Friday night hosting St. Francus U and Sunday on Senior Day vs. Robert Morris.
Qualter had another impressive game as the CCSU defense posted its seventh shutout of the season in a 1-0 win over St. Francis Brooklyn on Friday night. The shutout is the seventh in the last 10 games for CCSU, and its second straight in league action.
Qualter and the back four of the Blue Devils thwarted several scoring chances by the Terriers with its solid defensive presence. The Blue Devils haven't allowed a goal in league action in the last 229:16, a span of over five halves.
Qualter is now a two-time NEC Rookie of the Week selection.
