CCSU Places Fourth at Rutgers Invitational
The Central Connecticut State University men's golf team finished competition at the Rutgers Invitational on Saturday, placing fourth out of 13 teams. The Blue Devils, with a final score of 606 for the two rounds, finished 14 strokes back of the champion Scarlet Knights. Freshman Dan Fanion led the way for CCSU, finishing the two rounds in a 147 (72-75), five over par performance. He placed in a tie for seventh place on the leader board. Central will next compete at Dartmouth on September 26 and 27.

Sophomore Kevin Josephson had the second best outing on the weekend for the Blue Devils, carding a 153 (80-73) for the two rounds. He placed in a tie for 18th, while juniors Sam Pelletier and Eric Hawerchuck took ties in 26th and 36th, respectively. Pelletier finished with scores of 77 on each day, totaling 154 for the tournament. Hawerchuk was tied with Pelletier heading into second round play, but finished two strokes back shooting 79 in round two. Sophomore Greg Beloin rounded out the field for the Blue Devils, as he took 40th place, one stroke back of Hawerchuk (82-75).
