The Blue Devils are back home this weekend for a four-game Northeast Conference series against Wagner. The series opens on Friday at 3:00 p.m.
Stony Brook opened the scoring with two runs in the second inning to get all the offense it would need. Dylan Resk hit a two-out single to plate the first run and Nick Grande was hit by a pitch with the bases loaded to bring home another run and make it 2-0.
Grande and John Tuccillo hit back-to-back doubles in the fifth to help Stony Brook extend its lead to 3-0.
CCSU threatened in the seventh when freshman Sam Loda reached on a fielder's choice and moved to second on a wild pitch. He would move to third on a ground out, but following a pitching change with two outs, the Seawolves would get a groundout to end the inning.
Stony Brook came back to score two more runs in the eighth inning. SBU opened the inning with back-to-back doubles with Chris Hamilton driving in the inning's first run to make it 4-0. He would advance on a single and come home to score on a throwing error for the final margin.
Central used seven pitchers on the day. Senior Brett Susi started and went 2.0 innings. He took the loss after allowing two runs on two hits. The Blue Devils pitchers combined for six strikeouts against just one walk and scattered eight hits.
