Baseball Heads to Bryant for Weekend Series
The Blue Devils and Bulldogs play four games beginning Saturday
Central Connecticut travels to Bryant for a four-game Northeast Conference baseball series beginning Saturday in Smithfield, RI. The teams will be playing a doubleheader on each day. The two squads are currently both among the top four in the league standings.

The Blue Devils are coming off a midweek win at Albany on Tuesday to improve to 13-19 on the season. CCSU, the defending NEC champion, is currently fourth in the league standings, just two games back of third-place LIU Brooklyn. The Blue Devils rank third in the league with a .276 team batting average. Senior Dean Lockery is hitting .339 with 32 runs scored to lead the team. Senior Nick Garland and sophomore Buddy Dewaine pace the team with 21 and 20 RBIs, respectively. On the hill, sophomore Brandon Fox was named the NEC co-Pitcher of the Week on Monday after tossing 9.0 shutout innings against LIU Brooklyn last weekend. He currently owns a 3.76 ERA with a 1-2 record on the season and has posted 26 strikeouts against just 12 walks.
The Bulldogs currently sit second in the conference standings at 13-5 and have won 12 of their last 14 NEC contests. Bryant paces the circuit in both team batting average and team ERA. Freshman Ryan Ward is hitting a team-best .431 to go with team-highs in homeruns (eight) and RBIs (41). Junior Nathan Wrighter has collected a league-leading seven saves, while pitching to a 3.48 ERA.
The top four teams in the NEC standings qualify for the Northeast Conference Championship, which will be held at Dodd Stadium in Norwich, CT, from May 24-27.
