Softball Opens Season in Clearwater, FL Friday
The Blue Devils will kick off the USF Under Armour Invitational on Friday vs. Campbell at 2:15 p.m., followed by Georgia State at 4:30.
The Central Connecticut softball team is set to open its 2014 season Friday, February 28, at the USF Under Armour Invitational in Clearwater, FL. The Blue Devils kick off the season's action against Campbell at 2:15 p.m., followed by Georgia State at 4:30 p.m.
The Blue Devils are coming off of a record-breaking season, tallying 36 wins, earning a share of the NEC Regular Season Championship, winning the program's first NEC Championship and also claiming its first NCAA Regional game win.
The Campbell Camels are 9-7 overall and are headed into today's matchup coming off of a two-game win streak.
Georgia State enters the tournament with a 7-5 overall record and will kick off its tournament action against St. Bonaventure Friday morning prior to facing CCSU. Last year, the Blue Devils fell to the squad by a score of 3-1 in CCSU's opening game of the season.

Central is scheduled to play three additional games at the USF UnderArmour Invitational. Saturday, the Blue Devils will play Toledo at 11:45 a.m. followed by Stanford at 4:30 p.m. CCSU will complete the weekend with a 9 a.m. contest against Oakland on Sunday.
